Edmonton Cricket Club won the 2010 T20 Howe Cup

Howe Cup 2010 final was going to be a repeat of the 2009 Howe Cup final. ECC was playing Rising Stars again and each team wanted to end the season with the  coveted Howe Cup trophy in their hands. So, the scene was set for an intense finale.

Rising Stars batted first and lost 2 quick wickets, as Salman and Manish fell to  Faraz and Nauman, respectively. Then, Raheel and Lalit had a good partnership  and Lalit scored briskly. However, both fell to Faraz/Nabeel in the space of 2  balls. Faizi took both catches and cut his right hand while catching Lalit and  wasn't able to take part in the game anymore.

Faraz/Nabeel/Jawad bowled well to take wickets while Ginni kept it tight. Salman  took 2 good catches.

Rising Stars ended up with a competitive 133/9 after 20 overs.

It was a helter skelter chase by Edmonton, as only 10 people could bat and Ted  was playing with an injury. Fahd fell quickly but Ginni helped the run rate  immensely with a fiery 36. The ECC middle order handled the chase with great  maturity and thanks to valuable contributions from Jawad/Ted/Faraz, finished the game off the first ball of the 20th over. From the Rising stars, Nishi and Shariq bowled very well while Raheel and Khawar were extremely expensive.

The rather impressive Howe Cup trophy was awarded to ECC by Gordon Laguerre on  behalf of EDCL. This is ECC's 3rd Howe Cup win in 4 years which refects their mastery of T20 cricket. Thanks to this win, ECC finished its 2010 season on a high note.
