New EDCL Committee & Banquet Updates

Hi Gentlemen,


I would like to introduce to you our executive committee for 2009-2010 season. All officers names who were elected by the general body in AGM and their contact information are added on the website. We all are thankful to you for entrusting us with the executive roles and are determined to do our best to make this league the best and most fun place to play cricket not only in Edmonton but in Canada!


We are aware that there are daunting tasks ahead of us. And this will be achieved if we all work collectively towards one goal. Therefore your support is critical. Our executives will try to work closely with each member, listen to their inputs and concerns and make decisions which will be best for this league and for our beloved sport of Cricket.


To begin, this will be our official email address (edcl@cricketedmonton.ca) from here onwards. This email is linked directly to our cricket website and domain (as it ends as @cricketedmonton.ca). So in future anyone taking the secretary role should be able to use it. Transition will be easier. Now to some business...
As we all know that this year EDCL has arranged the banquet on Nov 14th (7:00 PM) at Sultan Banquet Hall. The Banquet committee has worked really hard for the past few months to make this event a success. In this 2009 AGM meeting the following two motions were passed.


Motion: Each club with 1 team buy 10 tickets minimum and each club with 2 teams buys 15 tickets.
Motion: Clubs that do not buy the mandatory amount of tickets will pay for those tickets along with their 2010 dues. Example: If a club with one team buys 5 tickets, the cost of the other 5 tickets will be included in their dues for the 2010 season.


Therefore executives have decided that all payments for banquet tickets must be received by Nov 10th. I or Gordon can be contacted anytime to collect the payments.
